Elected in July 2023 - Chief Heidi Cook and Councilors Annie Ballantyne, Bobby Ballantyne and Yvonne Ballantyne, for a 3-year term. Next election in July 2026 according to MCN Election Policy.
Governance
Most programs and administration delivered with funding from Indigenous Services Canada. MCN manages reserve lands under the MCN Land Code, effective June 1, 2017.
History
Cree people have occupied the territory for thousands of years, most recently since the retreat of the last glaciers from the area.
